CHANTAL LANDRY (SPERO)

My oldest friendship is with Chantal Landry, and perhaps it was destined from the very beginning. As the smallest boy and the smallest girl in kindergarten, we were paired together as the “firsts in line” among all our classmates. Add to that the fact that we were neighbours, and it seems only natural that we would become lifelong friends. Together, we quite literally took our first steps in discovering life and beginning to understand who we were becoming.

From childhood through high school, we truly grew up, side by side. We shared the everyday moments, milestones, and experiences that shape a person’s life, creating a bond rooted in familiarity, trust, and history. Music was always at the heart of our friendship — Chantal’s beautiful singing voice paired with my piano playing, creating some of my most cherished memories growing up. Although life eventually carried us in different directions and we lost touch over the years, the bond and memories we shared have never faded. There is something deeply grounding about a friendship that has existed for as long as memory itself — a shared foundation that feels unshakable. Chantal will always represent that for me: a connection to where it all began, and a reminder of the simple, enduring beauty of lifelong friendship.
